Photographed on Location!!!!

So I brought my prints back to my Grandfathers house- the starting point for their creation and hung them on the walls. I wanted to photograph each image in the location that inspired them.

Collagraph

I wanted to make another Collograph as I love the way it provides great texture to the finished print. I choose the mage of the pitch fork in the hay. I used card, tissue paper and carbonundum and glue.

Again I played around with different depths of colour and combined roll ups with intaglio.

Cross Hatching and Drypoints

I had some metal plates at hand so I decieded to use them to make small A5 size drypints. I choose my images from my previously taken photographs.
I spent a good week practising my cross hatching technique and once I was pleased with it I made the drypints using my etching tool.
My first image was that of a cows snout/ mouth. The first few proofs turned out ok but I was not happy enough with the cross hatching so I worked back into the plate and re-imked it. This resulted in cleaner more clearer lines.

I also worked back into hem withcolour. My second image is that of the old door of the milking parlour.

A2 Woodblock Image

This is the Image I am using for my A2 Woodblock.

After carefully cutting out the image I inked the block up in black. I also experiemented using monoprit for the background and by handcolouring the background

Using all my woodblocks I did a series of Embossemnts. I printed just the matrix with no ink used. This image does not do it justice but the results give a lovely clear embossement.
